Radiation hardening is the process of making electronic components and circuits resistant to damage or malfunction caused by high levels of ionizing radiation (particle radiation and high-energy electromagnetic radiation), especially for environments in outer space and high-altitude flight, around nuclear reactors and particle accelerators, or during nuclear accidents or nuclear warfare. The quantum chromodynamics (QCD) radiative corrections to charged current heavy quark production are given in the limit that the weak partner is massless, i.e. using a bottom structure function for top quark production. The results for charm production in neutrino nucleon scattering agree with those published before, but this method enables us to study all outgoing paticles.
